The Netherlands can confirm that on Saturday evening an incident occurred involving a Russian diplomat, which led to an arrest being made by the Dutch police. The police are now investigating the incident further. If this investigation reveals that the action taken was in breach of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the Netherlands will apologise to the Russian Federation. Discussions concerning the incident were held on 8 October at the Russian and Dutch foreign ministries
