AMEN. What is it with GNOME? For every great new idea they come up with, they mess up common tasks by drastically over-simplifying. And when called on it, they reference a small user study they did behind closed doors in which no user needed to change this setting and if you do you're a power user who should just know by instinct how to install the tweak app for a brand new UI rather than look for it for hours on end. RTFM makes all kinds of sense for using a GUI...
